well, i drove over to lakeland yesterday. it was hot man. got there and did some apartment hunting for 5 hours, looked at a bunch of places, though i saw only 3 apartments. No one keeps extra on hand for showing. some of the places were small, or ghetto areas, or ugly/dirty. Finally at the end of the day I found the apartment I want. Its gorgeous, big kitchen, huge coutnertops, clean, carpeted, huuuuuge closet. it was fanastic. Lakeland is basically full up. Most places have no vacancies and waiting lists for months. =P Now I just have to make some decisions about moving, what I want to take with me, how I am going to get it there, etc. My bed is ginormous. What a weird word, I don't think I've ever tried to write that out.
I tried to look for jobs too but it was getting too late. I applied at Chilis but thats not really what I want. My apartment complex said, if I do not have a job, they will change me for 5 months of rent (plus security deposit) right off the bat. Thats almost 3000, as opposed to 2 months (plus security) almost 1500. So I need to find a job fast.
I went to gym, it was sparse but I got in a really good workout and a giant on stap by myself. I'm glad about the way things are going. I'm sore today even though I've been going to open gym. meh =) |

I can't wait for this semester to be over. I am so tired of these crappy assignments my profs keep giving. and right when i thought it was all over, no more assignment, he gives another one! somethign about NP hard? and how the problem is unsolvable in normal time complexity... yea. whatever. and this other assignment is killing me, i cant even get motivated to do it. im gonna beg for more points on my last assignment to make up for how bad in gonna do on this one. i cant wait for finals. i can do tests without too much problem, studying isnt so bad, but sitting at this compy trying up code that doesnt work for 20 hours is no fun =(
gymnastics: my meet scores were as follows bar: 9.77 vault: 9.8 beam: 9.9 floor: 9.66
not too bad overall, i think i did pretty well. thursdays are awesome, i cant wait for gym tomorrow. im going to work flyaways, drop kip, roundy rounds, high bar kip. i keep telling bonnie we are gonna start working overshoots (high bar to low bar) but it takes a lot of effort to drag that huge resi-pit over to land on. and i dont want kim looking at us funny ^_^ oh wells. |

| You Are a Henna Gaijin! | You're not Japanese, but you wish you were! You can use chopsticks with your eyes closed, and you've memorized hundreds of Kanji. You even answer your phone "moshi moshi." While the number of anime videos you've seen is way higher than the number of dates you've been on, there's hope. Play the sexy, mysterous gaijin, and you'll have plenty of Japanese meat. |

Fill out the following under Anonymous and I'll try to guess who you are.
1. One secret. 2. One compliment. 3. One non-compliment, criticism, or insult. 4. One love note, but it does not have to be for me. 5. Lyrics to your favorite song. 6. How old you are. 7. How long we've been friends. 8. And a hint to who you are. 9. After you do it for me, put it in your LJ and see who does it for you |

home!
the plane ride was forever long, but i got lucky. one of the guys from my program was in the seat next to me. of the 5 of us that were on the plane, i think i got lucky because he is the one i spoke to the most on the trip. so i made him watch monster in law, and we chatted, and he futzed with my channel, turning the televsion off, pulling out my headphones. good times. i tried sleeping, but i couldnt seem to get comfortable. so my eyes were really bloodshot when i went to catch my second plane.
me traveling, is not my most graceful form. you should have seem me walking from the dorm to the train station. i was carrying two messanger bags, a pillow and a stuffed animal, as well as 2 cart bags, a large one and a smaller one. the biggest problem was that the bigger cart bag doesnt have a pull out handle (it broke before i left) so i had to basically drag the darn thing. it was aweful. even without the larger bag, inside the airport im sure i looked like a mess carrying all the stuff.
i hope i got enough omiyage which, bringing everything back it doesnt look like i bought that much, though im sure i spent enough money! =P
i have a ton of pictures and i might put a few on livejournal if i get around to it. because i would like to put stories next to the pictures instead of just putting then in a gallery without an explanation for them.
i also got out to swing dancing, which was really awesome. the scene is japan is the same as any scene you might find anywhere across america. same music, same dances. i would say the quailty of leads was pretty good, and the lesson i went to everyone had at very least, comfortable lindy. the teacher that they had had, had been there for a year (i assume) and was from seattle. he had been dancing for 10 years (he was 21) and i took videos of him too. the didnt do much balboa (because i dont think it was popular or everyone knew it) and the charleston i saw or follow was done to the wrong kinds of songs, or done pretty boringly, but the lindy was over all good and the club was really crowded.
more later, if you are nice. |

ive got my weekend set out fo rme. dancing and whatnot. i found some lindy hop so im gonna go swing dancing this weekend probably. probably go clubbing (i bought new shoes yestrday. kanji quiz today. wasnt so bad. ive been studying alot.
the school here feels like a high school. no eating drinking gum chewing in class. the classroom setting feels like high school where the teachers actually intect with students, instead of large lectures. its so weird.
there are so many smokers at the school too. as soon as we have a break, everyone goes outside to smoke. its ridiculous.
we had a tea ceremony today. we were served by a girl wearing a kimono. kimonos here are not that uncommon. you might see girls in kimonos on the train or and big touristy spots and whatnot. that fashion here is really strange. most girls dress up everyday (heels everyday) sneakers are uncommon. but some girls wear really groady looking outfits, layers times 10 that dont match. its so bad. but they have a lot of cute things here too. leg warmers and socks\stockings are very common.
i dont know what else. ill write back next week. |
